Development of Skills - University (Level 4)
Group Project Level 4 - Paws & Pals
Paws & Pals Asset Pack (Formerly Island Climbers)
This asset pack was created for a co-op platformer game developed during my first year at university. Paws & Pals takes inspiration from classic 2D platformers while using fully 3D-modeled assets and an orthographic side-view perspective to create a unique visual style.
I was responsible for modelling all assets showcased on the left, and I also textured the majority of them. The game features animal protagonists navigating diverse platforming challenges, reinforcing the playful and adventurous theme.
The core concept of Paws & Pals was true co-op gameplay, making solo play impossible. We achieved this by designing two distinct characters with unique abilities:
Beaver – Builds bridges to cross gaps.
Lemur – Constructs ladders to scale vertical obstacles.
While we initially considered a single-player option, the project brief required a minimum of two players, reinforcing teamwork as the game's central mechanic.
Environment Development - Level 4
Crypt Environment Scene
This project was a deep dive into environmental storytelling and optimization for real-time rendering. I focused on baking high-poly details onto low-poly assets, ensuring high visual fidelity while maintaining performance efficiency.
The scene tells the story of a long-lost criminal dynasty buried in this forgotten crypt. Hidden behind the crumbling stone walls lies their centuries-old stolen gold, recently uncovered after years of mystery. Through lighting, textures, and composition, I aimed to create an eerie yet intriguing atmosphere, immersing players in the crypt’s dark history.

Games Art Portfolio - Digital Drawing
This collection showcases my digital drawing work from my university course, where I developed foundational and advanced artistic skills. Before starting this course, I had little experience with drawing, but through structured learning and practice, I gained confidence in character creation, shading techniques, and the sight-size method.
As I progressed, I explored different shading techniques, refining my approach until I found a method that I can confidently recreate. This portfolio reflects my artistic journey, from early experiments to more refined pieces.

Early Development of Skills - College (Level 3)
An Introduction to 3D Modelling - Level 3
Classroom Exercises - Level 3
During my studies, I was introduced to 3D modeling and texturing techniques by my tutor, Ben. One of our first exercises involved creating and texturing a simple crate, demonstrating how even a basic model can achieve a high level of detail with the right approach. This lesson reinforced how realistic wear and tear, such as rust accumulation in grooves and grime on edges, can bring a model to life using Substance Painter.
Using the skills I learned, I later applied the same texturing techniques to my own models, achieving spectacular results.
Recently, we were tasked with creating modular building assets, including planks and bricks with varying levels of damage:
Planks: A standard plank, a “jank” plank (bent/cracked), and a heavily damaged plank.
Bricks: A clean brick, a slightly worn brick, and a heavily weathered brick.
While we were instructed to texture the bricks in Maya, I chose to utilize Substance Painter instead. By sourcing community-made assets from the Adobe library, I layered textures and applied a dirt overlay to create a realistic mossy brick effect. This decision allowed me to enhance the materials significantly, as seen in the comparison below.
FMP Assets - Level 3
This is a selection of 3D assets I created for my Final Major Project (FMP), uploaded to Sketchfab. While this is just a small portion of the assets I developed, I believe they showcase my ability to create high-quality, optimized models using [insert 3D software, e.g., Blender, Maya, 3ds Max].
Unfortunately, I was unable to upload all of my assets before my college files were locked after completing my studies. However, the models displayed here represent the level of detail, craftsmanship, and technical skill I bring to my 3D work.
